Vijaya Bank
Merchant Banking Division
Head Office, 41/2, M.G. Road
Trinity Circle- Bangalore – 560001
Sub:- Establishment of Central Pension Processing Centre in all Public Sector Bank: Dispatch of PPOs to CPPC instead of Link Branches.
Ref:- Your letter No-HO/MBD/Pension/AA/50/2012, dated-10.04.2012 & HO/MBD/Pension/VC/11/2012, dated- 14.05.2012.
Consequent upon establishment of Central Pension Processing Centre by your Bank, it has been decided that PPOs notified w.e.f 01.08.2012 by Pension Sanctioning Authorities in favour of your Bank, shall be dispatched to CPPC, instead of Link Branches, directly by Pension Sanctioning Authorities in r/o commissioned officer & their family and through concerned Record Offices/ Head Offices in respect of PBOR & their family/ Defence Civilian & their family.
On switching over the dispatch of PPOs from Link Branches to CPPC, there is a need to familiarize these CPPC about checks to be observed/exercised before making first payment which was hitherto been exercised by link branches. Therefore a copy of this office circular No. 113 dt- 27/05/2005 is enclosed herewith which will help the CPPC in establishing genuineness of PPO as well as to avoid fraudulent payment of pensionery benefit to imposters on fake PPOs.
In view of the above, it is requested that checks provided in check list annexed with this office circular No. 113 dt- 27/05/2005 may invariably be exercised/observed before releasing first payment of defence pension including amount of gratuity and commutation etc.
